Montrose 9-9, KC 9-13

Well, my stator went out on the Harley while passing through Montrose on 9-9. Fortunately, Black Canyon Harley Davidson was close by. Thank you to Ryan and the other good folks there for getting me back on the road on 9-11. The rest of the trip was catch up riding in the rain. Unfortuately, I missed dining at Merlino's in Canon City. I called my dad from Salina, KS on 9-12, to tell him I would be there in 2 hours, and he told me "don't come, we are in a tornado warning". I heeded this fatherly advice, and stayed in Salina that night. I rolled into KC on Saturday morning, 9-13, wet but safe. Abbi joined me to go to the disastrous Chiefs game on Sunday. Enough said. The slide show is from Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado. Thanks for following me along. Jack

Grand Junction 9-8

Well, if Nevada was beautiful, then Utah was truly spectacular. And I only saw a tiny bit on a 400+ mile ride today. Check the "view all images" option on Slide for more detail. These were taken at "view areas" off of I-70. Castle Valley, Devils Canyon, and Spotted Wolf Canyon were worth the trip. I made it into Grand Junction, CO after dark. Up in the a.m. for my favorite national park, Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Take care, Jack

Fallon, NV 9-6 Ely, NV 9-7

Hi everyone. All is well on Jack's excellent adventure. The trip on Saturday was hot. Not much water in the Feather River, and too much fire damage. Still, the scenery was beautiful. The trip on Hwy 50 through NV is also beautiful in a different way. This is really the high desert, with multiple passes as high as 7600 feet. The pictures don't really do it justice. I am having a great time, and hope someone will come along with me next time. There are 5 other bikers at this small motel in Ely, 4 with Ultras like mine, one BMW driver. Take care everyone, tomorrow on to Colorado, the longest ride of the trip.

Almost gone

Well I am almost out of here for this trip, Magalia, CA to Kansas City, MO. I will post every day or so, and try to keep things entertaining. The scenery will be beautiful, the weather is a big question mark. Hope my rain gear comes in today.

Jack
